After a four week knock out competition, The General Telegraph newspaper last Friday placed 3rd in the Samsung Media Competition which took place at their activation stand at the Accra Mall.
The General Telegraph newspaper, which was represented by Mutala Baako after its substantive player Frank Owusu-Ofori sustained a foot injury just at the start of the event, skillfully dispatched all her opponents including Ghanaweb and Today newspaper but unfortunately lost her concentration during the semi-final stage. They therefore lost the penalty shoot out to Live Fm.
The General Telegraph however bounced back to beat etv’s Abu Abdul Karim to place third and take home a Galaxy Core during the third and fourth place. Abu and the other hand took home a Samsung E330 Home Theatre.
Adom Fm’s Kofi Ansah emerged as the overall winner of the competition, taking home the converted 32 inch Samsung LED TV after beating Live Fm, who took home a Samsung Grand 2 phone for placing second.
Francisca Attivoe of the Daily Heritage newspaper took home a brand new Samsung Microwave Oven for being the best female participant
The Marketing Manager of Samsung West Africa, Richard Nunekpeku said the media plays a very vital role in disseminating information on Samsung products to its clients and cherished customers.
He noted that the essence of the Samsung Media Competition was to enable the loyal media practitioners to also experience the Beautiful Game of football the Samsung way.
“The essence of the Samsung media competition is to further strengthen the relationship between Samsung and the media,” Richard added.
