Fans of Vodafone’s multiple award-winning television
programme, HeatlhLine, have raised over GHC15, 000 to pay for additional
surgeries for patients in need of urgent medical attention. The surgeries will be carried out during
Season 4 of the TV show that will be launched soon.
HealthLine is Ghana’s
favourite TV show, having won TV Programe of The Year for two years in a row,
since its launch in 2011.The television show caters for the full cost of
surgeries for people suffering from various defects and life threatening
conditions who otherwise cannot afford to pay for their medical bills. Vodafone
Ghana always gives customers the opportunity to be a part of the programme by
donating through a short code.
Part of the show
focuses on providing the full cost of surgeries, for patients from deprived
communities who cannot afford the costs for their medical care. Following the launch of HealthLine, several
viewers got in touch with Vodafone to express their desire to contribute to the
programme. This was made possible with
the introduction of the *133# shortcode, which gave viewers the opportunity to
donate anything from 0.50 peswas to GHC 20.
Head of Brand and

Healthline, has
supported and transformed the lives of hundreds of Ghanaians who have undergone
various surgeries for life-threatening conditions including hydrocephalus,
cataract, hernia, fibroids and heart-related problems just to mention a few. It
has also educated and demystified various myths on health related conditions.
Production is underway for Season 4.
