A healthy mind they say is a healthy body and staff of
Vodafone Ghana trying to improve their health as well as that of other
Ghanaians. On Monday October 14, 2013, their headquarters in Accra was very
busy as they trooped in their numbers on the ground floor to donate blood to
help save lives and stock up the National Blood Bank.
The blood donation exercise forms part of their Global
Wellbeing month, which is being marked across all Vodafone Offices globally.
Since October 4, 2013, staff on Fridays participate in aerobic sessions with
renowned instructors from some of the top gyms in the country.
The telecom giant will be organizing a fitness walk from
their headquarters to the Accra Polo Court on Saturday October 19, 2013 at 6am.
Key landmarks on the route include Silver Star Towers and the Airport Police
Station.
Vodafone Ghana over the years has distinguished itself in supporting
quality healthcare delivery in the country. These various social investment
initiatives include the multiple award winning television programme, Healthline,
renovation works at both the adult and Children’s wards the Korle-Bu Cancer
Ward and the donation of 10 incubators to the Tamale Hospital.
A few weeks ago Vodafone
Foundation launched another revolutionary health initiative, Healthline 255, an
expert medical advice call centre which has been well received by Ghanaians.
Vodafone Ghana every Valentine’s
Day also pays the medical bills of people on admission in various hospitals who
cannot afford to cater for their medical bills. The telecom giant is redefining
